Professional Development Lunches
For Women in Science and Engineering

CU-ADVANCE offers professional development events throughout the year to gain skills useful in a faculty career. CU-ADVANCE Networking Lunches are designed to increase opportunities for collaboration and interdisciplinary networking among women faculty in the physical sciences, life sciences, social sciences and engineering. Networking lunches are from 11:30-1:30, with speakers beginning at 12:00.

Past topics have included:

  • The tenure and promotion process
  • Effective negotiation
  • Mentoring post-docs
  • Dealing with difficult people
  • Grant writing

We do not wish to discourage other interested parties from attending ADVANCE events. Our lectures are generally open to the public. Please notify advance@cornell.edu of your interest in attending our events.

WEPAN Professional Development Webinars

WEPAN webinars focus on topics relevant to women in engineering and STEM. Our purpose is to significantly increase knowledge of key issues and encourage all participants to lead implementation of best and promising practices that will advance diverse communities of women in engineering in academic and workplace settings.
